PAIN - CHAPTER 10: MERCY GRAVES

Mercy Graves sat in her office inside the LexCorporation headquarters: a modern and impressive skyscraper located in the business center of Metropolis. Mercy was the personal assistant of Lex Luthor, tycoon and CEO of the company. She was a beautiful and elegant woman, stubborn and often scheming. Mr. Luthor trusted her blindly.

“Yes, I received the flowers, they were beautiful. See you this week, I have another call. I love you too", Mercy hastily dismissed her fiancee of the moment. “Greg, give me some good news. What?! What does it mean that time is not ripe?! Fire immediately that incompetent and find someone who knows how to do his job. I already told you the drain need to be unclogged by tonight ". Mercy liked the drain metaphor when it came to shady deals. Obviously, if intercepted, the conversation would have been suspicious (which plumber works at night?), but Luthor was so powerful that he was untouchable by the arm of justice; they had only to give a minimum semblance of legality to what was not legal. “Please don't let me down too, it was a bad day… Greg? Greg? Can you hear me?" Mercy couldn't hear Greg anymore. She soon realized she didn't even have the phone in her hand anymore. “What the hell is going on? Where am I?" She was on the roof of a skyscraper, but not LexCorp's. Mercy was afraid it was the work of the infamous Parallel-X. The story told by DJ Leslie Willis had gone around the town and then around the world.

It was cold. Mercy took refuge inside the building. It was very modern, indeed, almost futuristic. Metal tentacles emerged from a wall, captured the woman and began to electrocute her.

Parallel-X hoped the torture could go smoothly; he was slightly tired, so opted for an easy victim. Everything went well. Nothing interrupted Mercy Graves' screams of pain and kept her clothes from being torn apart leaving the poor girl completely naked and helpless.
